Kayak Club IllustrationThe Canton Kayak Club (CKC) was formed in 1999 by developer Bill Struever and restaurateur Charlie Gjerde as a non-profit organization designed to give the people of Baltimore an opportunity to paddle the waterways of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and beyond. Working with the local merchants, environmental and community organizations, the club has become an integral part of the Baltimore community and provides members the opportunity to explore, socialize and exercise in our unique urban environment.

The club has four docking stations around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and one on the Middle Branch. Each station is equipped with single and double kayaks and a lock box with life vests and paddles. Upon first joining, members must attend an orientation class with our American Canoe Association certified instructors before taking out the kayaks. Upon completion of the class, members will receive the code to all the docking stations, ID card and can begin their exploration of Baltimore's harbor.
